When organising your child's birthday party, one of the first things you will need to think about is the venue. There are a lot of different options; I've performed at children's parties in restaurants, public parks and even industrial units. But best 2 options I'd recommend are either hiring a hall, or having the party at home. Hiring a hall or hosing at home can both be good in different ways and under different circumstances. Read on to see the advantages (and disadvantages) of both.
Hiring a hall is the option I would recommend for larger parties (20+ children). Even if you have a large living room or space at home, having this many children at your home can be harder to manage and you may worry about children breaking or damaging furniture or things around the house. Hiring a hall gives you peace of mind that there will be plenty of room, for the both the children; to run around and play games, and for the parents; so there's room for them to stand and chat in a separate area from the children's party games/activities. There will also be kitchen facilities for preparing the food and enough tables and chairs at most halls for all the children to sit down for the party food! Most halls tend to have car parks too, so there should be plenty of space for all the parents to park. Hosting a party at home can also be a great choice. It's the best option for smaller parties, as there won't be any need for the extra space a hall provides. If you're only having a handful or children, then I would definitely recommend having the party at home. In summer, having the party in the garden is a lovely way to do it! Other advantages of hosting the party at home are that you can decorate in your own time the night before the party, and there won't be any driving back-and-forth between home and the hall when you inevitably forget something (we all do it!). Having a party at home is also free, if you're hosting your party on a budget, it's an easy way to cut the cost. The biggest deciding factor as to which option I would recommend, is the amount of people you are planning to invite. If you have a lot of children, or are asking parents to stay, I would definitely recommend hiring a hall. If you're having less than 10 children, then a party at home is the option I would suggest. For 10-20 children, both options could work well, depending on how much space you have at home. I perform my children's birthday party packages and magic shows in halls, living rooms and gardens, so if you're looking for a children's magician, I'd love to hear from you! If you're looking to hire a hall, I have many list of halls to hire in different areas on this blog.
